My name is Jenn Deering Davis, and I’m a researcher and doctoral candidate at the University of Texas at Austin. I’m working on my Ph.D. in Organizational Communication, where my research focuses on the use of information and communication technologies in organizations. I have a particular interest in new web and mobile social technologies and on high-tech and startup contexts. I’m also a co-founder of a next generation e-commerce company, Appozite, and can also be found on my blog Appozitegeist as part of my work there.
This site is a space for me to share thoughts related to my research, my teaching, and the process of writing a dissertation. It is also part of my research itself - I figure if I’m going to study the ways in which people use the web in the workplace, then I should probably use some of these tools myself.
